Sunny South Texas!

Gravy, it is here.  Every day I checked the weather, they would lower the low temperature forecast.  If they are correct, we won't see the high side of 32 degrees Freedom until Tuesday.

I needed some parts and had to head over to the Gettin Place.  The dirt is still warm enough to keep water wet, but the windshields are frozen.

I figure some of you southern boys would need this info, so, it's worth what you are paying for it.  They don't sell ice scrapers this close to the sun.  So what do you do?

Any old Boy Scout electricians out there besides me?

Good luck folks, keep warm, and let the faucets run a bit...

  1. Great improvisation STxAR! I am been trying to think of items which one could use to scrape ice besides ice scrapers.

    1. They work well, even have little finger holes in 'em! And we got snow last night. Man, this is a crazy winter.

  2. A misplaced upper midwest fella here....central Texas. If your window washer fluid is frozen; add a pint of rubbing alcohol to the tank. Within about 24 hours it will all be thawed out.

    1. I haven't needed that trick, but I'll file it away. this weather isn't a surprise for you, I reckon. I've had some cold times in north Texas, but down here, this is not normal in the least.

  3. Not only do we have tools specific for removing ice from car glass, but some of them have had to be replaced because we've worn them out.
Neat trick with outlet cover, I will keep that in the memory bank.

    1. When I lived up in Lubbock, I had a heated ice scraper. That was long years ago. It plugged into the cigarette lighter.
